Topic: My father is a pro manga turnip supporter and this is why I deported him

I didn’t want to deport my father. I tried debates. I tried interventions. I tried gently suggesting that maybe every problem in society cannot be solved by a 900-chapter shōnen arc and a man-shaped turnip yelling in all caps. But here we are.

It started small. “They’re canceling manga,” he’d say, while holding a bookshelf that could legally qualify as a fire hazard. Then it escalated to “Editors are the deep state” and “Power scaling is being rigged by globalists.” Every dinner turned into a lecture about how modern stories are weak, endings are woke, and back in his day protagonists trained for 40 years uphill both ways.

The final straw was when he called basic media literacy “propaganda” and tried to explain tax policy using Naruto metaphors. I knew then: he wasn’t lost, he was serialized.
So yes, I deported him—to the comments section of a 12-year-old forum thread where he can argue forever about filler arcs with people who also refuse to log off. No borders, no facts, just vibes and bad scans.

I love my father. I really do. But until he accepts that manga is a medium, not a political ideology, and that the turnip does not, in fact, know storytelling… this was the only humane option.
