I’m starting to wonder if that might actually be good advice.

Africa is poor so you shouldn’t move there they say…

Except the exchange rate would allow you to live in the wealthier neighborhoods in one of the more developed counties where your money would actually go further than it would in the US or Europe. What if that’s actually the superior way to live? Because I see white guys go to Asia all the time. Why not do the same thing in Africa?

…minus the sex tourism I’m not a creep like those white guys in Asia. I mean purely for the economic benefit of being wealthier in a poorer country and being in a society where you’re the majority race.

Africa's a continent. 55 countries. all with diverse economies.

Exactly, which is why going "back to Africa" might not be that bad of an idea. Westerners only ever talk about the worst parts.

Although even though Africa is a continent, it does have about the same population as China and India, so comparing the African continent to either of those two countries can actually make sense in the same way comparing the entire EU to China or the US makes sense. In the future, that won’t be the case, Africa will wind up being much larger than India or China once the population stabilizes, but at this specific moment in time they’re similarly sized populations.

It can be useful for comparing different stages of development, India’s GDP is where China was at sometime between 2005 and 2010 or so, and Africa is a bit behind India. But they’re all three groups with approximately the same number of people. They’re just at different points in their development. People think they’re on different trajectories and Africa and India are hopeless somehow, but if you compare them to where China was at when China had similar demographics, I think they’re doing fine actually.

If you consider that China and Africa have similarly sized populations, and you consider that Africa’s birth rates are around where China’s birth rates were in the 1970s, and you compare Africa’s GDP now to China’s GDP then, Africa is actually doing a lot better than China was at that stage.

Africa is a fucking basket case dependent on resources export and foreign aid organizations. The elites take the foreign aid, plunk it into Swiss bank accounts and pay their patrons to stay in power.

These grifter regimes face exploding populations set against diminishing water and insufficient infrastructure.

Most will collapse in violence that will mirror Rwanda’s.

At least Trump isn’t president in any African country. At least Idi Amin said some things that are funny. People say Trump is funny but he doesn’t have my sense of humor.

I don’t agree with anything Idi Amin did, but 10 out of 10 as far as narcissistic black power fantasies go. Man was the black Hitler, almost. He didn’t win the war. So actually, exactly like Hitler!

Minus the suicide, black people don’t do that.

I’m joking about the Idi Amin thing, but I feel like if you’re a black American you should at least try to make some effort to visit Africa at least at some point in your life. The west can disrespect us and the continent we originate from until the end of time, but you do have to have some interest in your ancestors at least just as a human.
