I want to live a long life. Might be better to dip out and head to Europe or South Africa or something. South Africa is starting to look real good actually… nobody has nuclear weapons aimed at them. They’re far away from Russia, far away from China, far away from America. But they actually have good relations with Russia and China so if America falls off, they won’t be at odds with the new world order like the tiny little democracies in Europe and Asia.

You do realize that on government forms when it asks for your race it asks for whether or not you’re Hispanic separately from whether or not you’re white, because some Hispanics are white people, right? Hispanic refers to people with ancestors from Spain (Spain is in Europe) or people who speak Spanish (Spanish is a European language). The only reason why Americans think of Hispanic as a race is because the United States is about 1% Native American while Mexico is closer to 20%. So there are more Mexicans with brown skin because a higher portion of the native population survived than in the United States. That doesn’t mean all Mexicans consider themselves to be native but more of them have native ancestry. There was also slavery in Latin America the same way there was in the United States, so anti black racism exists in Hispanic communities. That doesn’t justify racism against Hispanics, but it is possible for Hispanics to be white supremacists.

A Hispanic can be a white person or a black person or an indigenous American, or an Asian person. Now the difference between a Hispanic and a Latino is that not everyone from Latin America speaks Spanish, Brazil for example speaks Portuguese. Brazil actually has the largest Japanese population outside of Japan, so there are Japanese Latinos. You can be any race and be Hispanic or Latino, it’s just most of them are some shade of brown, but they’re not races.

One of the problems with race is different societies do not have the same concept of race because there is no objective way to divide humanity into separate biological categories other than male and female. There are parts of the world for example, where if somebody is half black, they’re considered to be completely not black. But in theory United States, if you have any black ancestry at all people think of you as completely black. The same thing works for being white, there are parts of the world where people Americans don’t consider to be white are considered white. So when you have Hispanic immigrants in the United States the don’t necessarily categorize themselves into the same race that Americans categorize them into.

The idea of a white race is a British and American thing anyway. People call the Nazis white supremacist for example, but they thought Aryan and Slav were two different races and they killed millions of white Europeans they thought were inferior.
