I hate it when people ask a stupid question, expect you not to answer, I provide an answer, then they ask another stupid question, I provide and answer, and that just goes on repeat forever.
One guy on here asked me why "no African country has achieved what Singapore has achieved" as if that’s evidence that Asians are better than Africans. Except, there are cities in Africa that are developed, and there are countries in Asia that aren’t developed. It should be obvious why developing a city state with 6 million people located on an island would be a completely different challenge to developing an entire continent with 1.5 billion people. It’s almost like Africa has 250 times as many people as Singapore and has a completely different geographic reality. I still can’t get over how stupid that guy’s argument was.

It’s blatantly cherry picked on top of that. Out of every country in Asia, he picked the tiniest, luckiest, most wealthy city state and then compared it to an entire continent. That would be like if I picked the wealthiest guy in Nigeria and asked why he’s so much richer than the average white American. It’s so obviously dumb.

People do these stupid obviously dumb whataboutisms whenever they try to deny colonialism. There’s one woman on some website who said, “If colonialism is really bad it would be bad in every case, why isn’t Hong Kong poor like Africa and India." But Hong Kong is a city… it’s a freaking city, that was located next to a special economic zone in what was then the world’s most populous country while China was reforming their economy. That’s completely different! Sometimes I wonder if people are actually this dumb or if they’re just willfully stupid.

I mean, Japan would make more sense, if you compared Japan to Africa. People say the Japanese were more resilient than the Africans, while ignoring that Africans never did anything wrong to Europeans, they never provoked Europeans, but Europe and the United States have never had any interest in giving Africans reparations. Yet Japan, Japan did provoke the west, they attacked Pearl Harbor, and after the war, the US gave the Japanese billions of dollars to rebuild their country, but they didn’t call it reparations. Even though there’s essentially no difference.
