Something I’ve noticed from racists on the internet is they use the United States as evidence for Anglo Saxon culture being superior somehow. They think since the US is a former British colony and we speak English and we’re the most powerful country and we’re majority white, that we must be majority the descendants of British people.
Except, 19.8% of white Americans identify as being English or English mixed with something else, and 12.5% of white Americans identify as being exclusively English. Except, the United States isn’t 100% white, so it works out to 7.7% of the US population identifies as exclusively English and 14% identify as English in combination with something else.
So the United States is actually around 80% to 90% not an ethnically English heritage nation.
