Oh, cool. Make sure you have some security, though. You should get a small trust set up that he puts money in each week. You won't be young and pretty forever.

Having a long period of no work history, and no money or support system if he decides to take you to the pound will not be a good situation.

Also, tell someone where you are going. It's just safe. Do you know this person well?

I appreciate the concern, but this is something we've already discussed and it is a very safe and secure situation I am entering. There will be assistance provided if for some reason I wish to leave or if something terrible happens and we are left without our owner. He is a well off man with a lot of connections and there will definitely be a support system if something happens.

I don't think I'm going to tell anybody from my old life, except the internet, what I am doing. I know my owner pretty well and I trust him, he is a very safe and sane person who cares a lot about his pets and I feel I will be perfectly fine living as his pet.

Generally, when people do these things, regret is the farthest thing from their minds.

Regardless of their sanity, it's usually the result of a very compelling desire. People who self-mutilate/amputate because of deep desires tend to be happy with the results as well.
