I’ve heard people try to use the fact that White colonizers arrived in the 1600s to try and legitimize the Apartheid government. But if you think about it, this is the equivalent of if White Americans lost to the Native Americans after being in North America since the 1600s, after the United States built like 6 nuclear bombs. Like how tf does that even happen?

Look into the vela incident. During apartheid, the government led by the white minority created six nuclear weapons and tested one. They were afraid of a black nation invading South Africa and liberating the black majority and imposing majority rule (democracy). When apartheid ended, the apartheid government disassembled the nuclear bombs so that when the democratic government took over, black South Africans wouldn’t have nuclear weapons. South Africa still has the highly enriched uranium from those bombs, but they’ve agreed to a nuclear non-proliferation treaty, so they use the highly enriched uranium primarily for medical research. Highly enriched uranium can be used to create other radioactive isotopes that are useful in medical imaging for cancer patients to identify certain types of tumors.

There are different estimates of how much highly enriched uranium they have left, because the exact amount is classified, but U-235 has a half life of 700 million years, so they probably still have essentially all of it. Highly enriched uranium isn’t used for civilian power generation.

Although, South Africa also invented a way to make these isotopes without using highly enriched uranium 15 years ago, but they still keep the highly enriched uranium anyway.

South African whites disbanded Apartheid. It was a choice. Apartheid was evil but it’s amazing to see what ANC has done with the place. Non-working Air Force, broken power grid, widespread poverty and AIDS, massive crime rates, rape, rioting, all met by global media “lalalala, nothing to see here.”

When apartheid ended in 1994, South Africa had a GDP of about $145 billion USD. In 2025, it was $420 billion. This entire notion that South Africa’s economy is worse is easily disprovable bullshit made up by white supremacists who want to paint blacks as being less competent leaders than whites, so no matter what blacks achieve they’ll always complain about it.

Yeah, and that’s propaganda. There’s a reason why the countries that colonized Africa only report on negative news happening in Africa. If you actually look into the data, virtually everything in Africa is worse than Europe, that is true, but you’ll also notice, that virtually everything in Africa has only improved over time since Africa became independent.

For example, people will fear monger about Africa becoming overpopulated due to high birth rates, or people will say that Africa’s population won’t grow because children won’t survive until adulthood.
Take a look at infant mortality in Nigeria over time:
These aren’t even cherry picked examples, I’m just posting whatever random country and random metric comes to mind. If you actually look at historical data, you will find that everything in Africa has only gotten better since colonialism ended. It’s still not as good as the west, but if you actually look at the data, you’ll see the worst point was while they were colonized - or in other words, it’s actually the west’s fault, and that’s not making excuses for Africa, that’s literally just what happened.

Or the idea that "Africa isn’t developing because they’re corrupt," people just say that without actually doing any research, if you actually look at the combined GDP of all sub-Saharan African nations, each year, some nations improve, some get worse, but when you put it all together, you get this graph:
Africa isn’t not-developing because Africa is corrupt, Africa overall actually has been developing, but the west judges Africa because they have no concept of how low Africa’s starting point was.

Some countries are higher, some countries are lower, but on average, Africans have about 4 children per woman. If it takes two people to make a baby, that means their population doubles with each generation. They have 1.5 billion people, their average age is 19, that means half of Africas (roughly) are below 19, meaning about half the continent is children. Right now Africa’s workforce is about 600 million people, maybe a bit more maybe a bit less, by 2050, it will increase to between 1.3 and 1.6 billion people. Their GDP will increase because of that, people are negative about it because people don’t think very deeply about anything and judge everything based off of stereotypes and face-value blanket judgements, but I don’t think it’s very likely that Africa won’t experience a lot of growth in the coming decades. If they don’t even become more productive per person, you would expect their GDP to increase due to demographics.

I’ll also point out, that China and Africa have similar population sizes: Africa has 1.5 billion people, and China has 1.4 billion people. Africa’s GDP today, the combined GDP of the whole continent is similar to what China’s GDP was in 2005. Chinese couples have one child on average, African couples have four children on average. China will roughly shrink by half each generation while Africa will roughly double each generation. You would have to be an idiot not to see the potential here.

Now there’s also the biological determinist "blacks are low IQ" propaganda and the "blacks don’t value education" propaganda. Look into how educated Nigerian immigrants in the United States are. The number of African international students studying in China now is similar to (actually larger than) the number of Chinese international students that were studying in the United States back in 2005. Even if the United States banned all black people from studying in university in the US, that won’t actually stop Africa from developing.
