Russia has taken four years to almost beat Ukraine and is down to its D team. Its navy is a POS. China has a real fleet. Iran’s government is a week away from toppling though probably the IRGC will take over.

The strength isn’t important, what’s noteworthy is that South Africa is an African democracy with a capitalist economy. They should naturally be aligned with the United States in the same way that Germany or Japan are aligned with the United States, but they’re choosing another path. That’s not a good sign for the future of the west if developing African democracies would rather align with autocracies than with us.

South Africa is speed-running becoming the thirdest of third-world countries when they lose all Western support. Not that it's not currently a complete shithole, of course, but the ANC seem eager to make things worse.

The United States has more aircraft carriers than any other country, but submarines are designed primarily to sink aircraft carriers. Russia, China, and the US each have 60 to 70 submarines, which means if you combine Russia and China, they actually have double what we do. China also currently has 3 aircraft carriers, and is planning on building 6 nuclear powered aircraft carriers by 2035. Russia also has more nuclear weapons than the United States, and South Africa, Russia, and China have an economic alliance which each other.
Mind you, South Africa is a capitalist democracy, they should be our ally, the one reason why they aren’t is racism against them because they’re black. Africa is going to be 40% of the world population in 2100. This line of thinking is going to majorly screw the west over in the long run. The Chinese are actually doing the smart thing here.

South Africa also has a stockpile of highly enriched uranium, they do have the capability to build nuclear weapons but have so far chosen not to because they haven’t felt threatened by the west and considered themselves to be aligned with us. Which is why they agreed to nuclear nonproliferation. But they always refused to get rid of their highly enriched uranium.
