Topic: Kwame from Bethnal Green here. British museum wants Santa to be decolonised in the name of diversity

"Father Christmas is too white and should stop putting children on the naughty list, a museum has said.
Brighton and Hove Museums claimed Santa Claus needed to be decolonised in the name of diversity, in a blog on its website.
The blog also said that Santa should work alongside elves in the name of equality and a “Mother Christmas” would help tackle the patriarchy.
The museum post said the concept of Father Christmas and his naughty and nice list was a “Western binary” that teaches children that the “coloniser has the power to judge all people"
What are you thoughts on this, brothers and sisters? I'll post my own later, for now I have to get down to Gatwick to meet my cousins Khalil, Javion, Zaid, Malik and Jabari off the plane. They're emigrating to London!
If I’m being honest, I don’t agree with the original blog post, but it reads like somebody who was hired to write articles for the sake of writing articles wrote a dumb article they thought nobody would ever read, then a bad journalist read the article and tried to make clickbait from it. If I’m being honest, this feels like something that isn’t really newsworthy.

One way or the other, Santa isn’t really a part of Christianity, Jesus wasn’t a white guy, and the reason why Santa wears red is because it was popularized by a Coca Cola ad. In earlier depictions he was actually wearing green.

I don’t feel like Santa is something that needs to be psychoanalyzed, but "colonialism" is definitely the wrong approach of one wanted to. It would be way more interesting to write an article on Santa and capitalism.

Ngl, a part of me wonders if the original article was an idea ChatGPT came up with. It has that brainless, soulless, but too verbose at the same time AI vibe to it. I almost feel like a human probably didn’t write it.

Either that, or it could be a dumb publicity stunt. I wouldn’t be surprised if the guy who wrote the article is the same guy that told the media about it.

Saint Nicholas ('Santa Claus') was Turkish. His skin was probably a light brown colour, quite akin to the children of my brothers Salim, Olumide and Jahiem (they each married white British girls, Gemma, Mykala and Chantelle).
