is xp on death bugged or something?
I died with 6 levels and then i respawned and picked up my orbs and suddenly was a level 10 human paladin

i dunno, but last time i died i got fewer levels back when i collected the orbs then i had before dying.

i think i was also lvl 6, and i was lvl 2 upon collecting my items... it was a creeper that killed me but all of my items survived.. and can orbs even be destroyed that way?

Experience orbs can be destroyed by fire, lava, explosions and cacti just like dropped items.

oh and i found out this is why.

In Beta 1.9 Pre-release 4, You drop experience you have spent. So if you spend 10 points on an enchant and die you may pick up the orbs you dropped to gain the points back.
