GWB and Trump, both born on third base with every advantage, spiraled into life fuckups then bad presidential decisions. It’s almost as if there are insufficient hard upper limits on how much you can fail before it affects millions of lives.

Unfortunately, racism was used by the west to justify imperialism for hundreds of years, and it turns out, when you ingrain something in a culture for that long, it’s really hard to get rid of it.

If you tell people they have some place on a natural hierarchy by birth that they can’t change, that’s a great way to keep people from revolting. It’s like the caste system in India.

The obvious problem of course is that in the caste system, there was the idea that you could be born into a higher caste in the next life if you live out your role well. In racist ideology, there’s no concept of black people reincarnating into white people, so black people have never really been convinced that they’re actually inferior.

In Asian cultures, to the question of "why am I born into an inferior role in society" the answer is you did something bad in a past life. In American culture the answer is, "because no reason fuck you."

Even if you take the biological inferiority argument, which there’s no evidence to give it any merit. But hypothetically, if you tell black people it’s okay to treat them like shit because they’re biologically inferior, there’s no explanation for why they deserved to be born biologically inferior and there’s no explanation for why the response should be to mistreat them instead of help them.
The Indian caste system is evil, but it’s actually more intelligent than American racism. American racism doesn’t give black people answers for anything, it just gives them one single obvious solution which is to attempt to resist it generation after generation forever. Which obviously isn’t a smart way to create a society.

Even as far as racial caste systems go, the American racial caste system is a fairly stupid and simplistic system. It’s binary, either you’re black or you’re white. In South Africa, they had a tiered system where if you where white you were superior, if you were Asian or half black half white you were in the middle, and then if you were completely black you were on bottom. All racism is stupid, but American racism is particularly stupid in that they had the one drop rule that if someone had any black ancestry at all then they were completely black. Which is absurd since based on our modern scientific knowledge of where our species originated, that makes everybody on the planet black.
