Topic: Since it's dead, I'm gonna do some self-pitying
sluggy started this discussion 15 years ago#13,150
I'm gonna be all alone by the time I'm 30.
I'll be moving out of my friend's house as soon as I can, which will likely be around January. I'll be 30. No college degree. No friends (read:zero friends).
My social interactions will be limited even further than now. I'll slip to being completely incapable of interacting with my peers, though I'm already there.
I'll likely not kill myself for a few years. I really want someone to love me, and even though the concept is foreign and seems completely unrealistic, my desire is pretty strong.
What a worthless sad life. Learn from me. Kill yourself young, before you become a fat, sweaty, autistic fucking mess.

She is my friend now. My rent helps her pay the bills. We don't hang out anymore. Mostly cause of her fiancee I guess. We used to hang out a lot.
I give it two months before I never hear from her again after I move out, except she might invite me to parties on Facebook. Even now I don't really hear from her except when she has problems with her fiancee.
If I ask people to go see a movie or something, it's never a go. I honestly can't remember the last time I've asked someone to do something and they said yes. I stopped, now. Except my one friend and getting weed. If I ask if he wants to get weed from my guy, he will go do that and play xbox while we smoke for a bit. Then I don't see him again until he needs more weed.
He talks about movies he sees. He has never asked me to see one. He doesn't ask me to go to things like that. He only invites me to shows he is doing.
It's silly, but it actually really hurts. I dont know why I get hung up on movies, but it's such a simple thing. I don't know why it's so hard to ask if I want to go. I've never turned down an invite to a movie I could make it too. When I ask, no one has time. They often find time to go without me, though. It sucks.
Thats how I know I don't really have any friends.

How many friends do you have on Facebook?

How many have I seen in the flesh in the last six months, not counting my friend's wedding? 3.

Sometimes my housemates invite people over for dinner, I know when I get up to shower. Its so lovely to walk around jn my robe after waking in front of women I don't really know. Not at all awkward or embarrassing.
Also, not being invited to a meal in my own home isn't at all hurtful.

Learn how to program. It's a skill that can be self-taught and at the very least it will pass the time.

Change your antidepressants, OP. Find one that works for you. And stop smoking pot.

But seriously, I hate how people think or 'joke' that marijuana's awful and super bad and detrimental to people. Fuck that man, its only harmful during the brain's main stage of development.

Marijuana should be legal. That being said, it can be abused just like any other drug. I know people who would probably have jobs and aspirations right now if they didn't sit on their ass and smoke weed all day.

That's their own fault though, marijuana has kept me off the alcohol and has kept me from forcing myself on random women.

It also helps my depression and anxiety (indica helps with anxiety a lot.)
@236,369 (Freecode !!4IKKtS9GG)
My attendance is better after weed than it was before. My aspirations died from anxiety, not weed. I was anti-drug/alcohol from age 18-25 and I started my slip at 19 -- a year after I stopped smoking weed).

I can't focus. I got an A+ in my first CS course with java, but I didn't understand what I was doing. I could just figure out how to do stuff cause it was easy). My ADD is bad. I've tried to finish learning java and tried php and I get stuck cause when it gets complex I can't really take in stuff.

A lot of that is misleading or just flat out lies. The biggest one being weed and cancer. Marijuana does not cause cancer (according to current research). There has been no demonstrated link to any of the cancers you see with cigarettes. In fact, there is a possibility it has an impact on tumor growth. Need more research on that, but can't currently.
The shit on dependance is misleading. I can quit today and I won't feel shit except for in two days I might feel restless before bed. That's it. That's probably because I smoke before bed, so in just used to it as an aid, which is dependance. Yea. Same as anything. Jerking off, watching tv, watching porn, whatever. Marijuana is non-addictive. People can become addicted to anything, but there is nothing inherently addictive about THC.
The burn-out is bullshit. That person would've "burned-out" anyway. I smoke daily and it hasn't affected my work. My buddy does as well and he smokes constantly. Before, after, and during works times (helps with his anxiety and calms him) he is taking off in his career. He was not able to do that whrn he couldn't smoke weed at his job.
Weed is a miracle plant.
Short term memory loss is true.

Not joking. Many people who are depressed turn to marijuana to escape, but in the long term it only exacerbates their depression. I'm not saying it's bad in all circumstances, but I think Jump would be better without it. He may think it helps him in the short term, and it probably does, but unless he wants to stay the way he is, he's not doing himself any favours by using it.

I'm less suicidal than when I wasn't smoking weed. If I didn't smoke weed regularly I know I would kill myself. Not maybe, but definitely. If I had to go three weeks, I doubt i would make it.
I get really bad and smoking weed kills it.
You might be right. I haven't gotten less depressed since i started smoking heavily, but I'm not willing to give it up. Its the only thing that makes my life livable. I was drinking heavily before I started smoking. I'd be at the liquor store at 9am with the disheveled alcoholics. We recognized each other.
I remember when the one guy said "I see you made it to the bottom shelf." Or something like that.
I laughed, cause it was true. I started with absolut, then smirnoff and finally banker's club. Banker's gin isn't bad. The hangover is, but it goes down as good as any other gin I've had. I was drinking vodka, though. Banker's vodka is terrible.
It just gets too expensive when you're drinking everyday.
Before that it was a daily struggle not to kill myself.
I was completely sober when I had my only serious suicide attempt. I wasn't drinking or smoking. Hadn't in years (maybe a drink or two rarely on the weekends).
I don't have the ability to cope on my own. I have much less of a support system now. Much less.
Weed is all i have. Weed and Minichan.

bro you need to join gay little special interest clubs and stuff or go to church or something after a few weeks (if you try) few months (if you don't) you will make friends you will find a scene &c. i do think the drugs probably make you more paranoid than you realize, and make you you don't use problems as excuses. everyone has problems, you have to push past them and succeed despite them. stay healthy too, how's your diet going?
