I use AI daily for work. I am super great with Fortran which ends up as C+ and variations of. I suck at C+ re my dyslexia.
AI cleans up my code change attempts and so far everyone agrees what I end up with is often good enough to do what needs be done.
> AI made desktop computer parts more expensive yet again, so it can go fuck itself
Very true as Market Supply issue. AI is taking all the memory it can buy which jacks up low user costs - Home computer suffers BUT business users cost will drop as they Tap into AI servers. Many will lose jobs of course reducing the need for Biz hardware.

I think its safe to assume that the average layman with a lookscore between 0-5 simply wants to earn a liviable wage and still have time to partake in hobbies. if that means flipping burgers or restocking shelves and tolerating shitty humans for a few hours then so be it. at least one would be able to afford living on their own without parents or roommates.
> Are you saying you write in Fortran and use AI to convert it to C++?
No - The only language I learned early on was Fortran. For whatever reason it and my Dyslexia co mingled ok. C came along and I suffered with it and said NOT for me - C++ of course was evolution - By the by Supercomputers language of choice is Fortran. Satellites I work with mostly use C++ with sections using other languages based on power required to preform a task - Never enough power available so many short cut are made. I can read c++ but suck at programming it - Along cums a very recent version of AI for professionals and it takes my fucked up attempts with C++ and cleans it UP most PERFECT. Any program change/attempt is ALWAYS done on a simulator as a Mistrake in Space can be super costly like in the 100's Millions bucks. I am a Analog Engineer - Receivers Transmitters Power supplies Gyros and other Mechanical Gizmos to maintain orientation and stability in space. They require Lube and in space a vacuum and Lube are horrid issues.
Digital runs the show but it's rare for Digital to be in the Pipelines. @1,405,908 (K)

Dyslexia which is a Bitch yet has made me Famous as an Engineer over the years re ways I use to get around Dyslexia.

Ah I understand now. Sounds like a very cool job dude. Is your company hiring? I'm graduating with my second CS-related degree this month so it's about time to start begging strangers for job opportunities!
Ps I am in your neck of the woods for the next couple days. Treating myself to a few days on the beach to celebrate being done with school. Love San Diego, always have a blast whenever I'm here. It's at the top of list of cities to move to, if I can find a job here, or a remote job that pays enough to afford the rent!
