When you bring an entire refugee camp to the US it starts to look like a refugee camp around here. Bleeding hearts don't seem to get it. If that's what we want then fine, you gotta take care of them too. It just seems inefficient to stick 200,000 on planes when there was probably land close by they could have set up shop at.

I just find it odd that so many people seem to believe that immigrants make the economy worse when if you look at Eastern European countries that don’t have any immigrants and compare them with Western European countries with a lot of immigrants the phrase "import the third world become the third world" doesn’t really hold true. Economies that have had high immigration have outperformed economies that haven’t. If you look at Japan for example, they used to have a larger economy than Germany, which makes sense, they should have a larger economy than Germany because they have a higher population than Germany, but because of their aging population and lack of immigration an increasingly smaller working population is being forced to sustain an increasingly larger population of retirees which is causing Japan to decline relative to other economies, so now they actually have a smaller economy than Germany. Without immigration, the population of the United States would actually start shrinking similar to what has happened in Japan because Americans have fewer than two children per woman on average, which is less than what is needed to maintain our current population size. So the US economy would actually start to decline relative to the rest of the world if we didn’t have immigration.
