Topic: What sucks most about being divorced in your 40s is you can’t live like you’re 25.

Women expect too much. I was constantly perplexed by women in their mid to late 40s and their standards. In exchange I dealt with perimenopause and nagging for mediocre sex. I reset to: dating medical workers, dating a different social class, dating women you socially engineer online courtesy of social media (daddy issues, bad marriage), business trips. You have to lie - long term plans, love of travel (WTF is it with women and travel?), desire to have more kids (locks in mid-30s interest), even pretending to be a widower (thank you Hallmark). I have even fostered dogs. Makes you more approachable and lots of single early 30s women at dog parks.

It really is a rigged game so you might as well play it to your benefit. The women who complain about this are the ones who want carte blanche platinum princess treatment, think something better is around the corner but absolutely resent men who are equally self-interested (toxic masculinity! Narcissist!). The most interesting are the women who see through the bullshit and proceed anyway.

Never viewed a Hallmark movie until my EX GF now current GF again moved in and she is REALLY into Hallmark Movies. I now have a crush on Lacey Chabert because she looks 95% like a long ago EX GF.

As someone who divorced in 40's and had no problems getting dates. From a Gal I met at a Sushi bar to meeting them on Sierra Club hikes. Healthy way to meet.
Cannot think of one where the sex was mediocre. After all women in 30's which is mostly what I dated were very experienced. The kids thing DID end one HOT relationship because her clock was ticking and she proposed marriage to me after just 6 weeks or so of dating. I kinda laffed and she walked out and took a taxi home with relationship Kaput. Hot Juicy Redhead from top to bottom.

Came close to marriage with three or so. Now I am again with an Ex who has moved in. Her work takes her away for many days in row and IF she insisted on Marriage I would.

It's an easy filter to get to middle/upper-middle class men. They have both disposable income and time to spare, no workaholic BS and no poors.

I have a supervisor that got a taste of it and she's hooked. She travels Europe twice a year trying to snag a doctor or horse collector or whatever to sweep her off her feet (time is ticking, already in her 40's).

How did I miss something so fucking obvious? Brilliant on your part. Gold star. I associated it with Instagram culture. I’ll ravel for a martial arts seminar or do short trips. Nothing sounds less appealing than some three-stop jaunt with 20 hours on a plane.

Hypergamy is a thing.

Absolutely. Even if we’re told it’s misogynistic to acknowledge it. It’s just not resident in all women. Just enough of a distribution to make it irksome and something to watch for.

What doctors are looking to settle down with a woman in her 40s?

@previous (F)
Even if she isn't trying to be hypergamous, she'll take the best option available, and that is usually going to be a guy that's higher status.

Polygamous elite men ensure that the balance will always be skewed to favor the average woman over the average man.
