Having to depend on the government so you can eat. Miserable life to live having to depend on anyone besides yourself so you can eat. If it was me I'd change my way of living real fucking quick.

They’re working people and families who don’t make a living wage so Zuckerberg can wear his chain and so private equity can cosplay as suited pirates.

They may be working but maybe they need a second job or maybe ask for more hours. But I guess it's easier to find somebody to blame it on.

Have you considered minding your own business? It’s not my job to judge other people based on how much money they have. When people need to feel superior to other people, it’s usually because something’s missing.

Three days after graduation, Walton became a management trainee with J. C. Penney in Des Moines. During World War II, he joined the U.S. Army Intelligence Corps, and supervised security at aircraft plants and prisoner of war camps. He eventually reached the rank of captain.

what you call "the government" is supposed to be a civilizing factor in society. That it, when it isn't principally serving those who are already loarding it over the rest of us poor slobs

I remember my days at the government. Literal vampire pot belly goblins were hobbling around coming after us. My spirit still gets close to that evil sometimes, and I can feel it.

Maybe the non working tyoes could take a page from other cultures if they want to live like that: multigenerational housing. Yes it's unpleasant having 11 people in a house but maybe it's motivation for the 'able' to be more 'willing' to get out there. Solves childcare concerns. Solves what to do with grandma if she's alive at 85 and blew all her money at casinos.

I mean, there are homeless people in my city. I can walk outside and probably find a homeless guy within 20 minutes or so. But acting like I’m somehow a victim of homeless people while I’m chilling in my climate controlled housing would be an absurd waste of emotional energy. How am I a victim of people who don’t have things I have? I don’t waste my time thinking about something that dumb.

Beyond a moral thing, beyond hating on poor people being a gross personality trait, it just doesn’t make rational sense. Even if you hate taxes, 80% of your taxes don’t go to social security in the first place.
