I just finished Portal 2 again and someone on /v/ said something about how he likes to think that Chell died when she encountered the turrents at the end of the game as she was ascending to the surface. With the additional turrets singing to her as she ascended toward Heaven which was a wheat field (apparently in Greek mythology) where she comes into contact with an old friend, the companion cube from Portal 1.

Now that I see this scene once more. The more this kind of fits. But is it canon that she died or was she simply released from Aperture?
