Dry, overcooked, chewy turkey. Cheap "casseroles" that are just layers of canned food with Corn Flakes on top. Pies so cloyingly sweet that they give diabetes. Nothing homemade, nothing flavorful, nothing cooked properly. People who get all excited about Thanksgiving food have obviously never had good food in their lives.

One oven instead of my normal two ovens while Cardiff house re-build underway.So one Turkey in the oven and two Bar-B-Q's with Turkeys and this time I will break my no butter rule and over use Butter on the two in the Q's
I keep telling self I need to do the Cajun Deep Fried, because memories of my first taste of such and it WAS THE MOST JUICY Turkey Breast I had ever tasted.

While working in Dubbo Australia in prep for the first Launch of the First 4 Globalstars a Lighting Storm hit one of these and toppled it as Cooked to the Ground. There is a MASSIVE Underground network of Rods and Wires that go for hundred of yards to take a Lighting Strike and GROUND IT. It was NOT good enough.

I agree. I have switched to turkey schnitzel and brined turkey legs. I remove sugar from the desserts to a great extent and bake biscuits and make vegetable sides. The traditional method is a ton of work for low reward. Two days of prep for a dinner over in an hour.
