Sometimes I think about that period of history from 1920 to 1945, back when all you needed to be an advanced nation was a steel mill and some idiot crazy enough to test fly a rocket plane that burns liquid hydrazine as fuel. Apparently that was all you needed back in the day to take a crack at conquering the world.
