It's not pronounced the same in Chinese. It's closer to the Indian bread "naan".

Because think about it: if you spend years of your life thinking about hyper specific situations and planning out well thought out jokes, someday, if you get lucky, and by random chance the perfect situation arises that you already previously thought of, and you tell the right joke in that moment faster than anyone could have possibly thought about it, now you’re that guy who has a superhuman sense of humor, and you will be forever remembered as "that guy."
