The physics of a double jump would work if when you jumped the second time your legs flew off at a high enough velocity. The problem is they stay attached to your body and don’t move fast enough.

You can actually fly using two ladders. You have to hold a set of ladders while climbing up the first set. Then quickly start climbing up the second set while carrying the first set. You have to be very fast to do this.
