I was supposed to pay £5.68 for the tv license on monday but I didn't because I don't/can't watch tv. I am now overdue. I cancelled my license via internet on tuesday. Should I pay the £5.68 or ignore tv licensing?

The form says you only need one if you are watching tv as it is being broadcast. I don't have a digibox so I can't receive any channels.

The TV has to be physically incapable of receiving TV signals for that argument to work. Better to just not let them in your house. They have no legal right to do so against your wishes.

You don't need a TV license if you're not watching TV, you can own the set itself so long as you don't use it to watch TV.

Well in Ireland you pay the licence even if the TV isn't used to watch TV, laptops and desktops are included. I presumed it was the same for the UK.

If you don't pay your license bill, does that mean you get cut off from being able to watch the miscellaneous channels or are you barred from watching TV and risk arrest/fine?

It's actually fairer than our system where people who don't even have a tv are forced to fund the ABC. Privatise it, end coercive force, restore free markets!
