I do not drink alcohol for recreation, but I do use it as an anti-septic at times, plus I know that it is used to make extracts and it goes in cough syrups, along with a myriad of other purposes, so, on the whole, my life would be worse.

I guess my question is: why do you care so much? Are you the world's white knight? Do you feel the need to go around criticizing people? Why gave you that job on earth? God?
No, I would like to explore this with you. What compels you, in your mind, emotions, etc., to feel like you must look at others and try to point out their flaws in a cruel manner? What makes you feel like you have to waste so much time and effort criticizing everyone else?
Did you cry on Tinychat last night? Did you weep over your hurt jaw, and the fact that you have to clean up shit every day while your friends are out getting chicks and having fun?
No matter what you might think you know about my life, the bottom line is that, although I live with my mother, at least I do not have to empty out buckets of her obese shit daily, then get my jaw broken and cry about it on Tinychat, and I mean literally cry like a girl.
It is none of your business, and the fact that literally ALL you can post here are things about me, really, really makes your life seem pitiable. Can't you find an interest outside of me in your life? Just ignore me. Just stop posting about it. Just leave it alone. It has become maniacal, and it is not healthy for you. Just ignore me. Simple as that.
We all know who you are, and what your life is like. Now, let's make nice, shall we?

Same, I don't drink.. I don't plan to start either. Alcohol is a shitty drug. It barely gets you high, and then you feel like shit the day after? No thanks, I'll stick to pot.

Yea, you feel a little warm and funny, wonderful. You have to drink several beers to get a worthwhile high, and the more you drink the more toxic it becomes (wtf?).

Except Marijuana, Psilocybe Mushrooms, and a bunch of other drugs.

When you are drinking alcohol, each beer is more toxic than the last. Liver poisoning is possible.
When you are smoking marijuana, you cannot smoke enough to reach a level where you will experience toxicity. Overdosing is not possible.

Each beer is more toxic than the last. Nice cop-out though. > Any drug will fry your brain if you use it all the time.
Source proving marijuana is nuerotoxic, please.

> Anytime you introduce a drug that acts on the synapses it causes effects at the site of action. This is common knowledge.
Sure it causes effects, that's the point. But however impaired memory, learning ability, and lethargy is temporary and when the drug leaves the system so the side effects (when we are talking about weed).
> It is why opiate addicts forever crave the drug.
Yes, any drug that acts upon the reward system (not all do) will causes the user to be inclined to do the drug more. this is true for marijuana.

Any side effects it has are minimal, and not worthy of disregarding the drug. Alcohol causes real damage that can be seen quickly.
The high is better for marijuana, and the side-effects are much less damaging for it too, that's my only point here.

> Alcohol use is very common in our society. Drinking alcohol has immediate effects that can increase the risk of many harmful health conditions.
> Excessive alcohol use, either in the form of heavy drinking (drinking more than two drinks per day on average for men or more than one drink per day on average for women), or binge drinking (drinking 5 or more drinks during a single occasion for men or 4 or more drinks during a single occasion for women), can lead to increased risk of health problems such as liver disease or unintentional injuries.
> [...]here were approximately 79,000 deaths annually attributable to excessive alcohol use[...]
From the NHTSA:
> 5% of all deaths from diseases of the circulatory system are attributed to alcohol. > 15% of all deaths from diseases of the respiratory system are attributed to alcohol. > 30% of all deaths from accidents caused by fire and flames are attributed to alcohol. > 30% of all accidental drownings are attributed to alcohol. > 30% of all suicides are attributed to alcohol. > 40% of all deaths due to accidental falls are attributed to alcohol. > 45% of all deaths in automobile accidents are attributed to alcohol. > 60% of all homicides are attributed to alcohol.
Alcohol can be controlled, and used reswponsibly, but most people don't. It's unsafe, especially compared to weed. Alcohol causes violence, and exacerbates domestic abuse. I doubt many battered wives fear their husband smoking a joint (probably would calm things down).

I have to do medical detox next week.
Test results show my liver enzyme levels are over 1000 (normal is 36). That basiucally means my liver is destroyed and leaking enzymes directly into my bloodstream. I could also have hepatitis. Alcohol has destroyed my health, physically and mentally.
