Topic: any thoughts on banning "rapid intoxication drinks"?

In some places, a business can be in trouble with the law for allowing a customer to become drunk, or serving someone already drunk, or something like that. Which I thought was odd, but anyway. I got to thinking. There are these drinks where it is customary to drink the whole thing very quickly, as though the goal was not to enjoy the drink itself, but to rapidly become drunk. And so, in some places, there are laws concerning "rapid intoxication drinks".

What little bar scene I've seen doesn't really line up shooters and shots like the movies, and they are super slow at pushing drinks out even if a line forms. I think you're right, it's to keep the unseasoned drinker from getting drunk.
