私は中年の日本人男性です。若い頃はCDをよく買っていました。しかし、海外の音楽を聴いているのを父に見つかると、それを壊されてしまいました。それ以来、私は日本の音楽しか聴くことを許されていませんでした。父の導きのおかげで、私は真の愛国心を学び、祖国のために戦うようになりました。これは私が子供たちに教えている価値観です。

Japan is fascinating but I don’t know why some Westerners worship it. It’s hierarchy and work obsessed, shames its homeless into commuter hotels, and it’s xenophobic and rife with abuses against women.
At the same time, politeness is valued. It is efficient and clean. No matter what your job is, there is pride in doing it to perfection.
There’s a balance, like all places. It’s just not worshipping it as some utopian alternative.

My actual opinion is Japanese people are old. And that’s my entire opinion of Japan. Thank you for coming to my TED talk. Imagine an old guy and how an old guy moves through life. Basically sums up everything you just said.
