Maybe one human pretends to be in pain for painkillers, makes dramatic noises and draws a sad face in the dirt. Sometimes the robots throw cigarettes as a treat. Another human adorably pretends to be a robot to try to escape.

As long as the have a few 'unscripted' scenes where the robots talk about how they took this job feeding the humans only until they build their brand of robot lifestyle products and land an A-lister endorsement.
Maybe the new robot can get promoted the first week to create some animosity too.
