After Pearl Harbor got attacked, some guys got stuck inside of a ship above water in a compartment that wasn’t even air tight so they could still breathe. Instead of cutting them out, the navy decided to save time and let them starve to death even though they could hear them banging.

Another interesting subject is how the fist submarine to sink an enemy ship in battle was developed during the Civil War by the confederacy and how many slaves they drowned during test runs. The prototype kept sinking, but the inventor kept finding new people to die in it until it finally worked! Then everybody died, after the submarine successfully sunk the ship, because it was the 1800s and people just died like that back then.
