The British really are something. Can you imagine waking up one day, and being like, "What if we colonized a continent on the opposite side of the planet bigger than our own country and dump off so many criminals there they form their own democratic society."

That’s the one thing though, people say, "Well didn’t everybody do that!" Well in the case of Australia: no, nobody else ever thought of that.

Actually, this wasn't the case. What happened was the punishment for pretty much any crime was death OR you could go to Australia.
