Some stuck up people have the attitude that Asians are better than blacks because they think of Asians as being quiet and submissive and of blacks as being loud and obnoxious. So they say it’s not really them "being racist" it’s just that we objectively have a worse culture (which really means they just don’t like us because we complain more). Which is fine honestly, why should somebody who thinks you’re inferior like you? If someone thinks you’re inferior but they like you, you might need to reconsider your priorities in life. This reminds me of the Inca, who had wheeled toys for children but did not otherwise make use of the wheel because the Andes mountains were unsuitable for wheeled transport (and also they had no draft animals).

I’m also just going to add that this explanation of saying that different cultures use different materials and technologies based on their climate isn’t cope for Africans being less inventive, because off the top of my head I can think of parallels in European cultures. For example, the Vikings built stave churches from wood even though they were more modern than the Romans. But the Romans could build huge structures from concrete because they had a lot of volcanic ash that had special chemical properties that made it well suited for use in concrete that just wasn’t available in Scandinavia.

There are also other examples of technologies Africans did utilize. For example, even though sometimes mistakenly say Africans were in the Stone Age, they actually weren’t. Even though societies in Africa were using mud and straw as building materials, Africans were producing iron tools before Europeans arrived.

I think people also have the wrong perception about what "mud huts" mean. When you bake mud it becomes hard, so structurally it’s more similar to concrete. And there are examples of African architecture built from mud, for example the Hausa people in Nigeria that’s more interesting than people would probably expect.
