Topic: The woke crowd is the most anti-dialectical.

Anonymous A started this discussion 5 months ago #128,288

They are the first to declare dialogue meaningless, and repeat thought-terminating cliches.

I've never met lefties who advocate for calm, logical discussion. Unless they are saying it ironically to try to get a rise out of someone else, while ignoring any of the groundrules before and after the statement.

A lot of them are too idealistic to see the flaws in their own reasoning. They get so wrapped up in their worldview that they can’t make a coherent argument, and that’s why it often comes across as dismissive or loaded with clichés. The sooner they accept that not everyone subscribes to absolute globalist ideologies and that there’s real value in preserving some level of national or local sovereignty the sooner their conversations might actually stay grounded.

why is the anti-globalist rabble rousing so eagerly promoted by the billionaires of the world who have no allegiance to a place whatsoever, and happily hop about the planet to visit the extent of their domain

When half the political spectrum can't take anything seriously, it shouldn't be a shock when they end up with lower approval ratings than a fascist.

I wonder why he wanted to get rid of the department of education and said that he loves the uneducated. It’s almost like Americans are dumb and he knows he appeals to dumb people.

Efforts to eliminate the Department of Education go right back to 1980, the year after it became a cabinet-level department in 1979, and did not originate with Trump.

Republicans in general want less Federal control over education, and want it to be more state/local.

I don’t care who it originated with, the Chinese are producing 7x as many engineers as the US. Anti intellectual redneck "I want small government" ideology is going to turn America into a third world country.

A lot of Trump voters picked him because he's not as delusional as the Democrats. Political leaders are often psychopaths or corrupt, that's taken as a given by many, so it comes down to whether that psycho has common sense and is aligned with US interests, or doesn't believe in rationality and wants to advantage foreigners.

The majority is going to pick the psycho that's on their side and living on earth.

The Department of Education isn't the agency that actually operates schools, but every liberal that talks about it doesn't understand that.

They mostly manage funds, and push schools to follow DEI. There's some limited curriculum they make.

If the agency were completely eliminated, all the public schools would still exist and so would the organization that they are managed under.

Small government is the way to go. Once the Department of Education is dead and woke is out of schools, you will see a massive increase in doctors and engineers.

Small government and intellectually rigorous education are not mutually exclusive.

Also the 7x figure is misleading because China has roughly 4x the population of the US. It would be more like 1.75x as many engineers on a per-capita basis.

I like how you just disproved your own argument by coming to the conclusion that I’m wrong because China only produces almost twice as many engineers on a per capita basis like that’s not a huge difference.

I’m just going to say, you can have the opinion that small government is compatible with rigorous education, but it’s not true. Just look at the top universities in the United States: Harvard, Stanford, Yale, MIT, Princeton, Caltech, UC Berkeley, they’re mostly in left leaning states.

The same thing with tech companies, Apple, Microsoft, Google, where are these companies headquarters based? It’s an overwhelmingly strong pattern.

No more foreign aid to Africa or immigrants from Africa, except white South Africans, the group of Africans the least needing and deserving of them all. It’s also pretty obvious that Trump accused South Africa of what he accused South Africa of because South Africa doesn’t have good relations with a certain nation that has a name that starts with an I.

"woke" has nothing to do with the lack of doctors and engineers. There are other factors that played a role.
