I don’t get why Europeans are concerned about the "downfall of European culture." European culture isn’t particularly unique. You’re British yourself. You know how many countries speak English as a first language? England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland, the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand. Then there are plenty of other parts of the world where people speak it as a second or third language like in Nigeria or India. Over a billion people speak English as either a first or a second language. Your culture isn’t unique anymore because you spread your culture all over the world.

Like I’m serious, what makes England different from Canada other than you have a different accent? What food do British people eat that you can’t buy in Canada? Your culture isn’t some rare special thing that’s totally unique with one foot in the grave and the other on banana peel that needs to be "saved."

And I see Europeans compare this to Japan and say, "Well if the Japanese get away with it why can’t we?" How many countries speak Japanese? One. And Japanese people can’t let in a bunch of Chinese people because then all the Chinese people are just going to tell all the Japanese people how everything Japanese is actually Chinese and they’ll lose their cultural identity.
