I just find it peculiar that Matt makes a topic about every mass murder to hit the news and takes the opportunity to write some variation of "it is 100%, completely, totally unrelated to guns", and then chose to ignore the one that didn't involve guns.
> For one thing, its much easier to legislate guns than knives
There are silly state knife laws that often limit blade length to 3.25”, and don’t allow for switchblades or OTF opening. Which is ridiculous because anyone intent on stabbing others can use what they want and blade law violations are tacked on to a primary set of arrest charges.
If someone wanted to be really effective they’re secure two 8” Japanese chef’s knives to their hands. Maybe a Miyabi Koh. Having worked in kitchens for years I’ve seen what kitchen steel can do, how it glides around bone, and the good ones have ergonomic and non-slip handles.

I am unfamiliar with the stabbing -- how many people got killed, and did the guy stab himself to death afterward

if you recall the relentless message that a house is an investment, well certainly is to the fucker who buys more than one of them
and when several of these fuckers compete, they drive up the price so the regular slob who only would buy one is going to go without if not put into a precarious state of perpetual debt
