Sort of except it heads over the top and goes down again, you never have to get off. Then a moving walkway takes you around the mountain.
Of course it will all need to be in a pressurised tunnel to prevent damage and oxygen deprivation but you can use a VR experience to simulate the real Everest view as you rise.
