Topic: I was sad to lose my parents but I now see elder care nightmares around me.

I have friends whose parents have no savings, no insurance for late life care, no Medicare supplemental coverage. It’s nightmarish.
One friend has a dying mother and a father with Alzheimer’s. Turns out they cashed out most of their 401K, have little savings, and their house isn’t worth much.
Another friend pays the mortgage for parents who bought badly late in life. WTF?
Keep in mind it’s $4,000-$10,000 a month for a mediocre elder care facility. A private nurse or home care worker can be more than $1,000 per day.
What’s the point of higher life expectancy when you’re sick anyway and soon to be destitute? When your kids drain their kids’ college funds and take out loans and second mortgages so you can “live” on tubes?
> And its about to get worse under Trump, unfortunately
It's been getting worse for the last 30 years and guess what? It's going to keep getting worse for the next 30 years no matter who the fuck is president. Pull your head out of your ass and pay attention to what's going on around you.

Anger won't and neither will people like you, until you pull your head out, clean the shit out of your eyes and really see what's going on right in front of you.

Is he Pakistani? Who would want to live there who doesn’t have to?
