Anybody you hear singing a jingle sounds so lifeless because they know they're working on an utter shit piece of music.

Only so many keys in an octave, and I think they have to throw an extra sharp or two in there so it sounds a little bad on purpose - RIAA mafia will come after them otherwise, might sound like a pop song from the 1960's (jesus beattles were overrated) on accident.
