i read a pretty compelling argument recently that nakamoto was actually an alter ego of jack dorsey. i don't know that i believe it, not my $CIRCUS, not my $MONKEYS, but it was compelling.

@previous (B)
I've seen arguments for Satoshi being Elon Musk, Bill Gates, or Peter Thiel. Dorsey is a new one to me. I think tech billionaires are amongst the least likely candidates tbh. The sanest theories I've seen so far are Len Sassaman and Hal Finney, and both theories have holes.

I suspect he was just a regular guy with a regular programming job and a slight libertarian bent, who became interested in the idea of digital currency and went from there. The guy wrote "disorganised" C++ and used Windows, and relied on donations for early things like domain names and hosting. Definitely doesn't seem like a super cracked dev nor a wealthy person.

I wish more people would claim to be librarians than libertarians

I wanted to be a librarian
Well, I'd have preferred museum or archival work but still

and in the really big libraries, you can be a non-fiction librarian specifically

then I heard about the repair of a wrecked painting and you can be a head conservator
