Remember when people actually unironically believed that free speech on the internet would make authoritarianism less popular? That was pretty funny, right?

I just find it funny how you see it all over the place. You give people the ability to say anything they want without consequence, and they start convincing themselves that maybe Hitler was the good guy and maybe we shouldn’t have elections anymore.

It’s especially crazy because I literally see people on the internet talking to AI bots and watching content with AI generated images of certain groups of people doing things that aren’t even real and getting fooled by it. Like literal images of black people with three legs and shit.

The internet seemed like it was supposed to have places that maintained self governance without outside forces. People will always want to be in control, it's just that I guess a lot of people are comfortable being under control and I never realized so many people truly are NPC normies.
