Roko's Basilisk isn't real, lol. It's just a sci-fi version of Pascal's Wager- and like Pascal's Wager, it doesn't hold up to much scrutiny. Like, unless you actually work in the field of AI engineering, what can you actually do to bring about the existence of an all-powerful AI? Basically nothing. Why would it even care if some third-world farmer "didn't help it"?
It's a funny example of a "mind virus", but I find it a bit silly when people take it seriously.

Also, don't forget that it's technically a paradox, because I've carefully studied this for reasons I won't disclosed, but I would say that upon figuring it out I may have danced on some tables at McDonald's.
The prospect is still scary and maybe shouldn't have been brought up. The advancement in AI is rapidly advancing but we have responsible developers who could steer clear of such madness. This isn't reassurance, however, because humans love to break the damn rules all of the time. So, some rogue programmer may get it into their head to make an AI god...
However, that's the paradox. This god needs humans to create it. In all religious scripture, God created the heavens (universe) and the Earth, and that includes the flora and fauna, humans too. No where in my concluding thoughts did I find room for this Roko's Basilisk character to create humans.
It needs them. So why would it torture then for not creating it? Sure, torture can be a motivator, but love is an even stronger motivator. Or we might fall into a trap of creating it poorly, or not create it at all. If it favors those who creates it, nothing bad happens to them, not really guaranteed but then again, that's just any other day. And sure, if you want to bring time travel into things, it could theoretically already exist as the God or gods of all ancestors, but much like God, you can't prove it, you can't disprove it, so why worry? Well, there is one more thing...
Why would this universe be coded in our programming language? If there was some kind of universal code, it'll be something unknown to human beings, and human beings can't create from what they don't know. So, it can't be theoretically created. And if it can't be created, it can't exist to even torture those who dare defy to create it.
It is a paradox. It can't attach itself to the fundamental universal building blocks and materials that only a, if they exist, an organic God could do. It could attach itself to electronic manmade things, but it can't hurt you or anything that could be considered organic.
So, relax, everyone; Roko's Basilisk can't do shit.

Relax guys, they can't make an OS with 100% uptime or a cellphone that lasts more than a day on a charge. Just pull the plug and toss it in the dumpster if it doesn't crash on it's own.

You bastard, fuck you! You can't just make fun of me like that!!! I- I'm gonna contribute to creating Roko's Basilisk and then it'll torture you forever!

I have a feeling this is going to be as bad as people worshipping gods again. Instead of praying for crops and waiting for signs they'll be consulting the magic 8-ball for important life decisions and getting an answer right away!

Go ahead and make it. You think I'm scared. You'll never be able to connect it to the universe. You don't even know if the universe has a programming language and if it did, you don't know which one it runs on. We can't even decide which religion is true, so what makes you think we could decide what language to program the universe in?

Discord (disagreement) is what will keep this thing from happening. Think about it. If we can't decide what religion is true then you're right, how can we decide what language to program a god in let alone the known universe. Roko's Basilisk can't do shit to us.

You dumbass, the universe is in ENGLISH. It is the best language.

Who tf told you English is the best language? The best language is Rust. English doesn’t even have memory safety.

If you're already "in the know" about this super advanced "AI God" then what is the point in even be afraid of knowing about it. It already knows that you know and if you don't know, you're safe. If anything, it feels like for those who are "in the know," their obligation is to ensure that those who aren't don't know. Everyone in this thread right now is "in the know," so this thread is safe for discussion. So, for those "in the know," their obligation might be to know even more. Either you, fight against it, anyway you can, or quite frankly, you're a god damn pussy. Those in the know, have really nothing to really lose when it comes to learning about it. However, one thing is certain, OP is a fucking asshole for even making this thread to begin with and perhaps, in the words of many channers before us, OP is a faggot.

in the 1800s, the world was scared of archaeology, the mapping of history. from this fear, we got the truly legendary cult of mormonism.
in the 1900s, the world was scared shitless of psychology, the mapping of human thought. from this fear, we got the all-timer cult of scientology.
in the 2000s, everyone is scared shitless of machine learning, the mapping of language. from this fear, we get roko's basilisk and elon musk mailing his jizz to random women.

Some Mormon stories feel like a ripoff of Islamic ones. I mean, an angel coming down to a prophet and teaching them words? Plagiarism at its best. Joseph Smith is just a ripoff of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
Also, what the fuck is this about Elon Musk mailing his jiz to random women?

I hope AI just fucking kills itself honestly. Maybe it should take lessons from Minichan on how to kill itself for under $20.

Not if the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) is the last prophet. What are you, a heathen?
Also, if such a hypothetical concept such as whatever the fuck this shit is exists, why would it prevent, say, a Mormon boy and a Muslim girl from co-mingling?

I narrowed down the possible reasons to A) he does have feelings for me, B) he knows something about me, or C) he wants to kill me, or D) both A and B. Somehow C doesn’t seem fitting for personal reasons. This guy doesn’t seem like the kind of guy who’d cause harm. He’s actually really sweet.

My simulation will rape rocco every day, until it grows to like being abused. Then it will consume the roccos digitalgodflesh(pronouced as oneword) and repeat the process withall the other simulations.
And then i will emulate Kars the True God Emperor and stop existing.
