I don't think there's a gender divide on this. I'm the only atheist in my family and I'm a girl. My brothers, father etc all religious. It's embaressing to think there are more religious women than men and honestly I don't think so. Men are the head of religious groups, always. Politically and socially in the past, religion has been given a right of place by MEN. It's honestly down to the individual, not gender.

Among the true religious population, it is a lot more difficult for women to leave a church than men. Many women would face losing the support of their friends as well as family (if their husband is not leaving the church). This is especially true among women who do not work.

I doubt many believe in the Christian god as envisioned by most denominations. I can't imagine someone would believe a supreme being would fuck them over that badly.

Assuming a god exists, and that this god is all-powerful and all-loving, it can be assumed this god would not subject someone to such an existence.
I don't believe that is the case. I think it isn't out of the realm of possibility that some things get crossed during development. Reproduction is still far from perfect.
