Depends on the individuals involved; correct. I've been on the dude's side and didn't really care when an ex got annoying (tried bringing old relationship items around, moved into a rental on the same block, plus other similar bullshit). My girl on the other hand was hair on fire and spitting nails mad - almost broke up with me over it lol.
