I will soon, for sure!
@OP
I'm interested to know, how much of the core gameplay is the same? For me, an ideal situation would be a graphical overhaul with a few quality of life improvements here and there to smooth out the 2006 jank of the original. I've looked a little online, but I'm unsure just how much the gameplay has been tinkered with or stayed the same.
There isn't official support for mods, which I guess means that no creation kit is coming, but that probably won't impede the modders much. The Oblivion remake does seem to be mostly the same under the hood, and the Bethesda community have built up a lot of expertise in modding Bethesda games. When Starfield came out, they were using community-made tools made for Skyrim or Fallout 4 on Starfield well before Bethesda released the Starfield Creation Kit.

It's crazy to me that that it came out in 2006. It feels older, not the game but when I played it. I have a really odd concept of time when I think i experienced something in 2008 but think it was in 2004 or I had a relationship for 17 months but think it was for over 2 years.
Sure, the initial mods are obviously on the simpler side, but I'm confident that more complex stuff will come in time.

Haha, I doubt that many people have an accurate feeling of time that far back. Off the top of my head, I couldn't have told you what I was doing in 2006.

That would only allow you to make the most basic of changes to a stat or something. You'd never be able to add a weapon or a quest.
Is there a single UE5 game with any significant mods?

The Oblivion GotY edition is very much present here, it's driving everything you see in the remaster. You can almost think of it as a headless original Oblivion is running inside of the Remaster and tells the Unreal Engine 5 layer what to do. All the fun little quirks of Oblivion's core gameplay are here, with some QoL added and jank removed. It's truly as close as you can get to your ideal situation!
This is not some blasphemous remake. You will be amazed when you try it, it simultaneously looks and feels like a new game while still literally being Oblivion on the inside

Update: I'm in! Time to spend 10 hours in the character creator.

Yeah I have heard extremely good things, it sounds like they struck the perfect balance between keeping in the fun, nostalgic stuff (the persuasion minigame) but improving the more annoying aspects (the levelling system).

I'm optimistic. There's already lots of mods coming out. Nothing massive, but there wouldn't be this early.
Interestingly, there's some hints in the code that there could be official mod support coming at some point. Could also be something that was planned but was later dropped, though: https://www.nexusmods.com/oblivionremastered/news/15252
Regardless, if anyone can do it, it's Bethesda modders.

Update: I stopped three times to download mods, then went to cook a shitload of pasta, and then spent while on an Altmer name generator. But, at last, my character is done and I am ready to play. Woo!

I ABSOLUTELY RECOMMEND PLAYING THE ORIGINAL OVER THIS. HOWEVER, GOLDEN AGE BETHDESASLOP REQUIRED THE GAME TO BE MORE THAN FIFTY PERCENT MODS TO AVOID IT SHITTING ITSELF EVERY FIVE MINUTES WHICH CAN BE A TURN OFF, AND EVERY SALE OF THIS GARBAGE SNEEDS MODERN GAMING IN THE NECK
