Vibe coding (also vibecoding) is an AI-dependent programming technique where a person describes a problem in a few sentences as a prompt to a large language model (LLM) tuned for coding. The LLM generates software, shifting the programmer's role from manual coding to guiding, testing, and refining the AI-generated source code.

I find "coding" to be an annoying word too

It is too general sounding a substitute for programming

Programming is physical, such as lifting a flap or setting a lightbulb to act as a 1 or 0. Coding is entirely digital, and used to build software.

No, it's the honest truth, programming is lifting a flap

Yes. "Coding" makes me think of somebody with low to average intelligence churning out shitty broken software. The process of creating high quality software is programming.

Yeah I don't think I've ever heard a colleague say they're a "coder". I'd expect "coding" from someone who's learned a little HTML & CSS and is freshly enrolled in Python 101 or some shit, not a working professional.
