The fact that Americans are so stupid that they don't even understand basic economics and not know what a tariff actually does. They have no right to cry about the price of a console from an international company. Even from an economic standpoint, y'all should have known Trump was going to fuck up the market and make it appealable for the top percentile of Americans. I know the alternative candidate wasn't much to ride home over, who the fuck voted for Harris or Biden and was proud to do so, but Jesus Christ, they wouldn't have fucked up this economy that hard.
Shut the fuck up about the price of a video game system. Bitch about something fundamental like groceries or gas.

If Americans didn't want economy destroying tariffs they wouldn't have voted for the man repeatedly saying he would implement economy-destroying tariffs. We are getting what we voted for.

its literally only nintentroons bitching about this. just helpless druggies screaming in discomfort now that their pimp knows for certain that the hooks are set and are finally in position to execute a rugpull.

Honestly, I'm pretty sure the Switch 1 garnered more of an audience than just diehard Nintendorks. It was a mainstream console and probably will remain a mainstream console during the lifespan of the Switch 2. I would argue that Microsoft and Sony may have dropped off to a certain extent during the past generation of video game consoles.

i literally only ever hear of the switch1 when its getting dunked on for its associations with manchildren. it cant have obtained much adaption considering how its target audience is more interested in roblox/fortnite/adinfested mobile games

I also see Nintendo systems as more aimed at kids. They have the same dynamic Disney does where a lot of adults take it too seriously.

I'm thinking mafia gets involved in smuggling various consumer goods to avoid tariffs. It may be that the tariffs are a scheme to aid Russian mafia specifically, since that's who Trump has been involved with for decades.

I don't care about the price of the console or even the games ($80 for Mario Kart lmao), what rubs me the wrong way are charging for an interactive manual and charging per game for Switch 2 updates. Even the notoriously anti-consumer Microsoft lets you pop an Xbox game you bought in 2001 into your Series X and play it with tons of modern enhancements for free.

Mario Kart World is also being bundled with the system for a special version that's only $50 more. I guarantee you that this digital version will be the more commonly owned one compared to the $80 physical copy. Also, Mario Kart World looks like the definitive title in the entire history of the series. It looks lit as fuck.

My current thought as well. Even the fancy tall format paperbacks (2X price) and hardcovers ($32) are looking like a value at this point.

Possibly a fair assessment. I remember when the purple Gameboy Advance units came out and they were pretty popular as a platform for everyone. My friend's mom had one at the time and I thought that was pretty wild that Nintendo expanded the audience as well as they did.

You literally just put the game in and turn it on. I had a PSP back in the day and I didn’t even look at the fuckin manual once.

The argument for selling the Welcome Tour @ $10 is that it's really a virtual museum and mini-game collection, rather than literally a manual. Typically Nintendo console manuals are built into the system OS, ala 3DS and Switch 1. That isn't changing, you get a manual for free. But if you want a deep dive into the new features, with mini-games and commentary about the research and development process, you can buy the $10 interactive tour.

Wii Sports was free because it was bundled with the Wii at launch. In some markets it wasn't and it was sold individually. A game that should've been bundled with the Switch 1 wasn't bundled and sold independently alongside the console, 1 2 3 Switch.
