Why did you bring up porn any way?

I'm pretty honest. I was a gooner for a long time and the messaging in that content really destroyed whatever self-esteem I had. She appreciates that I don't shy away from weird conversations anyway, so I figured I might as well be open about the fact that quitting porn has increased my confidence significantly.

How long had you been talking to her?

Also, the lightskin remark was very dumb. Not trying to be mean

Here and there for a few months now. She asked me to go on a hike with her last week, but it's been raining nonstop here since then and the trails are too muddy. She also said she wanted to show me her college portfolio. We both bitch about our exes to each other, but I'm really starved for intimacy, so I don't really care that I'm playing with fire.

This was pretty much directly before that first screenshot.

I would just lay off the porn talk and mentioning her skin color

In a weird way I think it was a way of trying to tell her that I find her very attractive. Which, she's an objectively attractive woman. She already knows she's attractive so it doesn't really need to be said. But I'm a massive autist, so...

Its usually not a good idea to reference skin color at all

To be fair, she's the one that referenced it. I was just trying to reaffirm that there are plenty people who appreciate the beauty of women with her complexion. Personally, I don't fetishize Black women in the way that some people do; as in, I don't get weirdly sexual about the idea of fucking a Black girl like some guys do. In the same way that some guys like blondes, and some guys like gingers, I legitimately just generally find those features to be insanely beautiful. Particularly the hair. Every man has a weakness, and mine is Afro-textured hair. I don't think that's a bad thing, but I understand how one might get the idea that I am fetishizing it.

But you mentioned her skin in relation to how many similar people you've seen in porn

That's a good point. That truly wasn't my intention, and I hope she can understand that I'm just pretty awkward sometimes but still well-meaning.

elaborate on porn versus confidence

confidence relating to what exactly

cock size? no one gives a shit and if somehow someone does, you don't want to know that person

Well, on the surface, porn conditions you to want to watch other people have sex; specifically, people that are deemed "more attractive" than you. As a result, we can conclude that porn conditions men to be cuckolds.

Some men take that a step further and get really involved in the humiliation aspect of cuckolding. Some men take THAT even further and get really involved in a very specific genre of porn that is entirely designed to mentally destroy the viewer using repeated affirmations that strengthen and encourage insecurities, as well as Pavlovian techniques involving a large number of triggers. This genre of porn is abusive and destructive to the viewer; and the viewer, in his submissive state, accepts this abuse and partakes in it. The shame and guilt carry over into his daily life, and repeated viewing of this content wrecks his ability to see himself in a positive light, and thus, weakens his ability to attract a partner.

It'll take a long time to undo the years of damage that I've done to myself by falling into that trap. I just grew tired of trying to use pixels on a screen to replace actual, legitimate human intimacy, and I decided to quit. It's probably only been a week or so, but I can already feel the change happening in me. I don't necessarily believe in the so-called "superpowers" that NoFappers often discuss, yet at the same time, I can understand just how these so-called "superpowers" can rise to the surface.

If you consistently pour nothing but poison on a flower, that flower will die. If you consistently water that flower and give it light, it will grow. In this case, the flower is my self-esteem. Hope this helps.

OK for the first sentence, my response is that I don't think about attractiveness related to me at all, because I only seek to see chicks that I find attractive, and I am in no mind to feel in competition with them. I have no interest in the dudes at all.

Continuing to read, I do not relate, because I look for nice chicks, and don't need to see a dude in there at all. If there is one, I'll get turned off if it is too much.

The general visual media that doesn't fall in the porn category routinely features people that are supposedly attractive, especially USA famous stuff, so it isn't specific to porn that one might feel less than ideal in comparison.
