It appears Ukraine is not going to accept annexation of any territory but that's what the the two of them appear to be discussing. So it appears these talks are just for show.
Well Trump seems to be letting Putin have a say regardless. It's hard to see what Russia will gain for a reasonable price if anything and the sacrificed souls will eat away at home, like a haunting reminder.
I am thinking either Trump pulls the same stunt as with Kim jong UN in their meet and greet back in the day, or Zelensky is forced to say what he has made clear already and decline the deal. If a peace is achieved, it's not like Ukraine hasn't already humiliated Putin several times and it seems that maybe next time Putin invades, Europe will be more prepared.
