Its a little ridiculous on its face, but the japs wanted to make a rendition of spiderman, however the company founding it was toei, and their super robot toys were just starting to get popular, so thus this silly shit gets produced. This series apparently had significant influence on the later super sentai(power rangers) and kamen rider fad if im reading correctly.One interesting thing is that it apparently nailed spidermans powers in a RL format really early, before digital effects became the creativity numbing cancer it is today.
