Topic: How come there is always some weird belief or tradition regarding Mormonism?

La Reina Catalina !j0siCathyI started this discussion 1 year ago #123,650

Beliefs or traditions not commonly held by other branches of Christianity. It seems like whenever I learn something about Mormonism, spanning nearly a lifetime of tidbits of information that pop up here and there, there is always something new to be learned. Something that is completely odd and unique to this particular religion.

Here's some of the things I have learned about Mormonism:

1) The reward for good behavior in life results in the gift of godhood and governance over celestial bodies whose number varies dependent upon how many wives a man has in life.

2) Mormonism borrows from a Jewish belief in lifetime religion. A person who is baptized Mormon is a Mormon for life regardless of any potential religious conversions to other faith practices. This results in there being 'active' and 'inactive' Mormons in the world.

3) Baptisms of the deceased is valid. This creates strange occurrences where a person whose been legally dead for one-hundred-years having scheduled baptisms in the present day or a future date. There is also designated sections of Mormon churches used particularly for baptisms of the long deceased.

This one alone is enough to be evident that Mormonism is a gift that keeps on giving for creators like Trey Parker and Matt Stone as a continuing source of material for South Park and Broadway musicals.

4) Transgender individuals is; as expected; not endorsed, supported, or favored. I'm including this for a specific reason.

Now what happens if someone who previously went through a crisis of faith said the shahada, after previously being raised in a Christian household, to convert to Islam only to depart this religion in pursuit of baptism to Mormonism prior to coming out and starting the gender transition process both medically and legally?

Yes, such individuals exist in the world. If Parker and Stone are correct, then would the Mormon part automatically grant passage to the Kingdom of God or would the past affiliations stifle that? One way or another, I do not envy any angels when it comes to sorting out this spiritual mess.

What other weird, unique, odd; beliefs, traditions, or practices can I learn about the Mormon religion?

You can't keep good standing with the church while being trans

It is the only religion in USA that offers opportunities for men to have multiple wives. Even a TV show called Sister Wives.
Limited areas because a few frown on this kind of love.

Yet according to the lifetime religion rules, you’re still Mormon, just inactive. How the fuck does that work?

It works because Mormon's want the number of Mormons to remain as large as possible. So they keep you on the books even when you're not allowed in the church or any church activities.
Mormons even Baptized dead Jews, to convert them to drive the book numbers up. Jews officially complained to stop this practice.

You would be in a Mormon polygamy harem and a Muslim harem. Now go spank your willy.
