…weird shit like this keeps happening in the world.

I was never once a believer of Revelations, but the more weird shit occurs in sequence throughout the course of the past year and now, the more I become a believer.

What even is this?

Revelation 7:1–8 Limits the total number of people that can go to Heaven. 144,000 and that is from day one of Earth population.

I get a chuckle out of the groups that hard-line-literal believe that, and say that they are (or hope to be) in that small group. The early church should have told John to put his fanfic in the trash because it's caused more problems than helped clarify.

Mormons are serious about Revelations. When they come knocking on my door I remind them that Heaven is off limits, because currently there are 7,255,394 Living members worldwide.
Add that to all the now dead Mormons and by getting me to join they reduce their chances of getting in. Also since the Mormon religion is spanking brand new compared to the other branches of Christianity...Just seems near impossible to get into Heaven.

The 144,000 virgin descendants of the 12 (not 14) tribes of israel? In revelation they don't exactly go straight to heaven, they are hired by God to power up the Jesus mecha suit. God pauses the simulation and sends an angel to get those little stinkers and stamp "property of YHWH" on their foreheads, then when he unpauses his game, the lamb shows up on the hill and starts shooting lasers and swords grow out of his mouth and all. They're a sacrificial offering "purchased" from the Jews, and all of them are named as Jews who converted to Christianity, but too late.

The real heaven shit starts later in the book.

Mormons don’t take that verse literally, the Jehovah Witnesses do. Those are the ones whose prophet said the world was going to end like five times and it never did yet they still dress up in suits and knock doors every Sunday

I agree. Mormons and Jehovah Witness get weird in person at my door when I bring up the limit of 144,000. Looked up Witnesses and
"Jehovah's Witnesses believe that a "little flock" of 144,000 selected humans go to heaven, but that God will resurrect the majority (the "other sheep") to a cleansed earth after Armageddon."

I ask them to point out where in the bible that gives them some other place to go after death and they of course can find nothing.

The book is called Revelation (singular), not Revelations (plural). Thanks
