Topic: I really can't understand why Trump got to be president

The only thing I can figure out is he bullied himself to the top. But I'm not American. Is there a better explanation?

The only remaining explanation is that half of Americans are profoundly stupid.

That's true but I follow the pendulum theory of Government parties. Swings to the left, swings to the right. Usually two Presidential periods but not always.

So how did Trump get to the top of choice for the Republican party?

Stupidity or evil. There's no other rational explanation.

Anything but a woman.

I disagree. Lots of countries have had female head of states. India, where gang rape is practically a part of the national culture had a female PM decades ago.

Just because a candidate is female doesn't mean she should get elected.

Well like 76 million people put a check mark next to his name, only like 2 million more than the time he won I guess

I think his point was that Americans, who are mostly racist and sexist, would rather have a supervillain than a black woman.

Maybe they didn't want a democrat in the Whitehouse?

@previous (A)
I don't think so. They didn't want a black woman, so they chose a literal fascist dictator moron.

The truth is that the democrats are fucked up that they had no choice but to vote for trump. At least enough of the democrats had enough sense to know kamala couldn't do the job better than trump, which isn't saying much but you wanted to know how...well that is how trump got voted in.

"Vote for me or you're racist and sexist" isn't winning elections.

Not the point. The point is that half the country IS racist and sexist.

It's been three days, nothing has happened.

When deportations and tariffs are in full swing it's time to see.

It's because you are not in possession of all the facts. You see the US and the dems and the republicans and Trump only as the media wants you to see them. Have an open mind. Try to understand what the ordinary person wants, and don't listen to what a minority of loudmouths tell you.
