Basically, the kid only developed a brain stem. He has no brain but is still (barely) alive at two years old. He can't see or hear, though.
To me, this seems actually rather cruel. It's not as if this child has a mental handicap like autism where he can still learn a bit and think. This child has no brain at all, and no sign of one growing any time soon. Not only is he blind and deaf, he also can't think or even register much of what's going on. They're just prolonging that.

Kid's a plant. I can't support killing him for not having a brain anymore than I can support killing a tree for not having one. That it disturbs me is irrelevant. This kid is just trolling me in his own special way.

Have you read about the "Pillow Angel"? It's a severely brain damaged girl who will never progress past the "age" of a toddler. Her parents gave her high doses of hormones to inhibit her growth so that she will be easier to care for. She also underwent a hysterectomy to prevent her from going through puberty.
